Status of Medical Aid in Dying

Ahead of the 2024 session, Wisconsin introduced AB781, which would authorize medical aid in dying. It is being championed by Representatives Ohnstad, Joers, Palmeri, Snodgrass, Emerson, Jacobson, Conley, Stubbs, Sinicki, Subeck and Clancy. A companion bill, SB 739, was filed in the Senate, sponsored by Senators Hesselbein, Agard, and Carpenter. Both bills failed to pass.
